Affiliate disclosure

Compare My Area may publish links to third-party products and services (for example mortgages, insurance, broadband, or utilities). Some of those links may be affiliate links. This page explains how that works so you can make an informed choice. It is intended to meet expectations under UK advertising self-regulation (including ASA/CAP guidance on transparency for affiliate marketing) and common affiliate network requirements.

An affiliate link tracks that you reached a merchant from our site. If you go on to complete a qualifying action (such as a purchase or application), we may receive a commission from the merchant or their agent. This does not change the price you pay for that product or service.

Where we participate in affiliate programmes managed through Impact (or similar networks), those programmes require clear disclosure that compensation may be received. We will label or contextually disclose affiliate relationships wherever Impact or the relevant advertiser requires it, in addition to this page.

Rankings, charts, and statistics on Compare My Area are built from official open data and consistent methodology. We do not sell placement in our data rankings for commission. If commercial links appear near editorial content, they are supplementary; they do not determine how we calculate or present official statistics.

Many links on this site are purely informational (for example to government datasets or regulators). Only links offered in partnership with an advertiser or network may generate commission. When in doubt, assume a commercial relationship only where we state one next to the link or in the surrounding copy.

Affiliate revenue helps fund hosting and data processing. It does not replace your own judgement: always read the merchant’s terms, compare options, and seek professional advice where appropriate before financial or legal commitments.
